The guest speaker for our November Lunch is Emeritus Professor John WarkMB BS, PhD, FRACP AM

The title of John’s presentation is:

'Osteoporosis and Bone Health – an Overview'

John graduated in Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 1971. After completing his hospital residency he entered physician training and graduated as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians specialising in Endocrinology in 1979. Following further study in the UK at the University of Sheffield and in the US at Harvard School of Public Health, John returned to positions at the University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital in 1984. Since then, he has pursued a very active research and clinical career focusing on vitamin D metabolism and action, and bone health. John was awarded a personal chair in 2000 for excellence in research and scholarship, and the prestigious title Emeritus Professor in 2019 for outstanding contributions at the University of Melbourne. Lunch is at the Kelvin Club (www.kelvinclub.com) where we meet from 12-30 pm onwards. A two- course meal, including a glass of wine, is at 1 pm and the formal part of the proceedings will conclude around 2-15 pm.

The price for OUSV and CSV members and guests is $67.50. For non-members the price is $75.
